Did you know that pool pumps are one of the largest consumers of your home’s total energy?
Today, residents in Palm Desert are taking advantage of the Palm Desert Energy Partnership’s energy-efficient pool pump programs. The One-Stop-Shop Pool Pump Program is aimed at reducing energy usage by up to 50 percent and saving residents as much as $400 in energy costs over an entire year by replacing old pool pumps with an energy efficient, variable-speed, quieter pool pump. The price for the new pump including standard installation and the instant rebate is $875.
The One-Stop-Shop Pool Pump instant rebate program is managed by Cypress, Ltd, an energy-efficiency consulting firm supporting Southern California Edison (SCE) customers with a 24/7, bi-lingual customer service center in Hemet, California, able to answer any questions about the program, arrange the installation and also provide an instant rebate. As part of the program, Cypress, Ltd., has signed up local contractors familiar with replacing the pumps and details of the program. Homeowners can make just one call to purchase equipment, schedule an installation, and receive an instant Southern California Edison rebate by calling 877-811-8700.
Who is Eligible?
The program is open to Palm Desert residents who are Southern California Edison customers while funding lasts. Pool pumps for spas do not qualify. The Partnership’s energy efficiency programs are funded by California utility customers and administered by Southern California Edison under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission.
Why should I replace my pool pump?
The Palm Desert Energy Partnership is helping the City to achieve its goal of a 30 percent reduction in energy use by the year 2012. This is crucial especially in the desert, where every resident’s energy saving contribution helps contribute to this goal. As a bonus, even neighbors will appreciate the significantly quieter pool pumps.
